Margie Elizabeth Ewell

Margie Elizabeth Ewell, 92, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 in Baytown, Texas. She was born on December 29, 1924 in Cookville, Texas to George Hulen Raney and Gladys Keith Raney. In World War II, Margie worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company in the rubber packing plant, afterwards she spent her life as a homemaker. Margie was a very intelligent woman who was strong willed, kind, nurturing and always giving. Some of her hobbies included tending to her garden, garage sales and around Christmas time, enjoyed making divinity and pralines. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl E. Ewell; her parents, G. Hulen Raney and Gladys K. Raney; sisters, Helen Dowden and Mary Tarver; brother, James H. Raney; grandson, Joshua Ewell; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis B. Ewell.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Brown; sons, Ronald Ewell and Kelvin Ewell and wife Rhonda; grandsons, Jason Ewell and wife Virginie, and Mason Fowler; granddaughters, Alyson Case and husband Jason, Mallory Treece and husband Ronald, and Madison Fowler; great-grandsons, Collin Case, Connor Case, and Carson Fowler; great-granddaughters, Saskia Ewell, Abagayle Fowler, Rylann Fowler and Layla Treece; and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Sterling White Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 1:30 pm in Sterling White Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd.
