Amanda Marie Pearce

March 21, 1928 ~ October 10, 2020 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Tribute

Amanda Marie Pearce, 92, a longtime resident of Baytown, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 10, 2020. She was born on March 31, 1928, in Stillwell, Oklahoma. She was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church in Baytown.

Before retirement, Marie worked 38 years as an LVN. She most enjoyed working with her doctor friends in surgery. The doctors were her fishing buddies. She arranged many deep sea fishing trips for them. She was an avid hunter and camper. She began with a tent and graduated to a motor home. Marie loved going to Seven Acres in Wimberley, Texas where she parked her motor home or rented a cabin. Not only was she an outgoing person who loved to spend time outdoors, but she also adored and unconditionally loved her pets. Re Re, her last pet Chihuahua was her constant companion and comforter. All of her pets were travel companions. Marie became an avid reader of country western novels the last 2 years of her life and claimed to have read all that was available at our local Sterling library.

Marie was a loving Aunt, great-aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred L. Crane and Cynthia Ann Plowman: her sister Magnolia Coombes and her brothers Alfred Jr., Eugene, and Jesse Crane. She is survived by her nephew Robert E. Coombes and wife Jamesine of Alice, Texas, her great-niece Cynthia Coombes of Alice, Texas; as well as other great-nieces and nephews, her special friend and caretaker, Evelyn Virnau, and many loving friends.

Special appreciation and gratitude are extended to caregivers Wendy Pierie, Ena Andrews, Cynthia Moreno, Randy Galvez, Aliena Herman LVN, Judy Swan RN, as well as Vicki Durst and her staff of Vicki Durst’s Care Home
