Benjamin Martinez

Benjamin “Benja” Martinez, 49, of Crosby, Texas, slipped away into the loving arms of our heavenly Father, on Friday, April 2, 2021. He was born on October 18, 1971, in Mexico, to Salvador Martinez and Abelina Oviedo Martinez. Benja was of the Catholic faith. He was a proud organizer of fundraisers where the proceeds are sent back to his childhood church to help with it establishment and growth. Helping his church brought him sincere happiness.

Benja was a person who pursued many interests, some of which included playing soccer, cooking and being outdoors. He was a very hard worker who made sure his wife and girls were well taken care of. Benja was a tough father, he loved his children unconditionally and instilled values into them that they will be able to pass onto their children. He was also not only a wonderful family man, but he was also a Momma’s boy. Benja was proud of each and every one of his girls and their accomplishments. His family was his priority in life. He was a social person who never met a stranger. Benja had a passion for helping others. If there was someone in need, he would be the one people would turn to. Benja was naturally a funny person. He was always making others laugh, and could light up a room just by walking in. Everyone knew him not only for his big smile, but also for his infectious laugh as well.

Benja was a loving son; husband; father; brother; Uncle and friend to many who knew him.  He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his parents; his beloved wife Claudia of Crosby, Texas; his children Tracy Martinez of Austin, Texas, Stephanie Martinez of Crosby, Texas, Nathalie Martinez of Crosby, Texas; his numerous siblings, nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Benja's life will continue to bless us for many years to come, and his dedication to his family, friends, church, and fellow man shall be celebrated and not forgotten. We love you Benja. May you rest in peace with our heavenly Father.

A funeral mass for Mr. Martinez will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 11:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1124 Beech St, Baytown, TX 77520.

 Friends are also invited to visit with the family on Saturday, April 10, 2021 form 10:00am until 12:00pm in the chapel of Sterling~White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas 77562. Rosary to be recited at 11:30am. A funeral service will follow beginning at 12:00 pm. A graveside service will be held in Sterling~White Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
