Clayton Lamar Hartman

Tribute

        Clayton Lamar Hartman entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the age of 61. Clayton (Clay) was born on May 26, 1959 in San Antonio (Bexar County), Texas to Robert Dalton Hartman and Ima Jean Darlee Angermiller Hartman.  

        At the young age of 11 he was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Channelview Texas.  When Clay was 14 years old,  he played drums for the Gold Banners Orchestra in Houston and surrounding towns.  He left the Gold Banners Orchestra to play guitar and form a band with close friends.  They played the local music scene around the Houston area.   Clay became a very accomplished guitar player and musician. He could write poetry in a matter of minutes. Clay graduated from Channelview High School in 1977.  He loved sports especially baseball and tennis.  Clay loved his music and that was his passion, however the real world got in the way and he went to work for EquaStar/Lyondell Petrochemical where he worked for 31 years and would volunteer when needed, he spent 17 years on the Emergency Rescue Response Team.  Clay married Meike Montine Hackney on May 24, 1986 and they had 2 sons.

             Clay is survived by his wife of 34 years, Meike Montine Hackney Hartman of Crosby, Texas; their two sons, Kendall Dalton Hartman of Sweden;  Ryan Vaughan Hartman of Crosby, Texas; parents Robert Dalton Hartman and Ima Jean Darlee Angermiller Hartman of Runge, Texas; in-laws, Ed and Jo Ann Hackney of New Braunfels Texas; brother, Robert Glen Hartman and wife Lori; nephews - Robert Brandon Hartman of Bullard; Matthew Aaron Hartman of Stephenville; Justin Hackney; Thomas Harper;

Travis Harper; and Ronin Hackney.  Nieces- Amanda Jean Lerma, husband Stephen and his son Payton; Christine Allen; Stefani Allen; Carli Itri; and Lindsey Jones.  Clay is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

        Clay was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Robert Henry Hartman and Iva Ruth Clowers Hartman, Nora Striedel Brundrett Hartman of Skidmore, Texas; maternal grandparents Fred Lamar Angermiller and Mary Mc Comack Angermiller of Kennedy, Texas.

       Funeral services will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd Highlands, TX 77562 on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 with visitation and viewing starting at 10am-1pm with services starting at 1 PM. Internment will be on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:30am at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, Cemeteries 1700 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78214
