Hope Owens, Beloved Painter and Baker, Passes Away at 95
Hope Owens, a talented artist and masterful baker from Crosby, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on July 17, 1928, she lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Predeceased by her devoted husband, Bernis Owens, as well as her sisters Ernestine and Freda, and brother Dale, Hope is now reunited with her loved ones in eternal peace. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her sons, Steve and wife Gracie, Burt and wife Janet, and Russell, as well as her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Hope's passion for painting was evident in the breathtaking oil landscapes she created, each one a testament to her keen eye for beauty and her profound connection with nature. Her works were widely celebrated, capturing the essence of the Texas countryside in vibrant colors and intricate brushstrokes.
In addition to her artistic talents, Hope was renowned for her exceptional baking skills, particularly her delectable pies that were the envy of many. Her kitchen was a warm and inviting haven, where the aroma of freshly baked treats filled the air, and loved ones gathered to share in her culinary delights.
Surviving Hope are her sisters, Georgia and Treva, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with this remarkable woman.
A funeral service on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at 2 pm at the chapel of Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg road Highlands TX, will be held to honor Hope's life and to celebrate the indelible impact she had on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Visitations will start at noon. The service will be followed by her burial at Sterling White Cemetery
Hope Owens will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and culinary excellence will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
