Gayla Ann Hodges, 79, of Baytown was born January 25, 1939, in Laneville, Texas and passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 peacefully at home. She was a long time resident of Baytown and retired from ExxonMobil Refinery after 30 years as a security guard. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed crafting, making soaps, cooking and most of all spending time with her friends and family. She formed so many special relationships and everyone she knew was family to her. Her love for Christ showed through, as she always had a servant’s heart toward others.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gaylon and Marie Rogers along with sister Kathy Dover and brother Pete Rogers.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years Johnny Hodges of Baytown; daughter Cindy Moretti and husband Mike Moretti of Rye; daughter Dianna Bradshaw of Houston; son Robert Hodges of Baytown, daughter Shannon Hodges of Baytown. Grandchildren; David Winter of Baytown, Josh Winter and wife Rachel of Mont Belvieu, Jessica Irwin and husband Chad Irwin of Mont Belvieu, Karla Winter of Baytown, Rachelle Moretti of Las Vegas, Taylor, Cheyenne and Chloe Hodges of Carthage, Alexis and Hunter of Baytown, as well as numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sterling-White Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Sells officiating. Burial will follow at Sterling-White Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Winter, Josh Winter, Karla Winter, Michael Moretti, Chad Irwin and James Lehman.
