George Frank Adlong Jr.

George Frank Adlong Jr., 84, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019. He was born in Crosby, Texas on October 21, 1934 to George Frank Adlong Sr. and Albina Vyoral Adlong. George honored his country by serving in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He raised a family with the love of his life, Patricia Ann Melcer Adlong and in just a few days they would have been married for 60 years. His family was very important to him and he made sure to spend time with them.

Every day was an adventure with George. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could make others smile very easily. Some of his hobbies included hunting, woodworking, fishing, and traveling with his wife. George was knowledgeable in many subjects and had the determination of always learning new things: once he had his mind set on something he was going to know how to do it. He even took welding classes to learn how to weld and flight classes to learn how to fly. George will be remembered for being a great husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Albina Adlong; sister, Lillian Adlong Reed; and brothers, Clarence Adlong and Kenneth Adlong.

George is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Adlong; children, Craig Adlong and wife Shannon, Carol Pigott and husband Chuck, Lauri Tippett and husband Clay, and Christopher Adlong; sister, Joyce Prescott and husband Toby; grandchildren, Britany Winfrey and husband Tommy, Heather Graham and husband Jaret, Haley Graham and husband Kelton, Alyx Tippett, Randall Adlong and wife Emily, Kaitlyn Pigott, Bryce Tippett, Kendall Pigott, Cody Pigott and wife Tina, and Ashley Shafer; numerous great-grandchildren and other close family.

Honoring the family by serving the family as pallbearers will be Clay Tippett, Bryce Tippett, Chuck Pigott, Craig Adlong, Randall Adlong, Christopher Adlong, and Toby Prescott.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Sterling White Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm.
