James Horace Dalme, 68, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. James was born February 18, 1953 in Houston, Texas to parents Horace Ted Dalme and Mary Louise Stout Dalme. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his brother, Kenneth Dalme.
James was a hardworking, hands-on man. He was known as a problem solver who did not believe in defeat. He had many skills and passions in life including gardening, farming, canning and freeze drying foods, and cooking bbq and fried catfish. James drove 18 wheelers for 50 years and met many people along his journeys, everyone who met him liked him instantly. Mr. Dalme liked jet boats and planes, particularly Cessna planes; he always enjoyed telling people that he had his pilot’s license before he had a driver’s license. He fought hard like a lion and never gave up. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
James is survived by his father, Ted Dalme; son, Bo Dalme; daughter, Summer D. and fiancé Kyle B.; 3 grandchildren; cousin, Leslie Dalme; girlfriend, Fidia Young along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, May 28, 2021, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in the chapel of Sterling~White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas 77562. A funeral service for Mr. Dalme will begin at 12:00 pm in the chapel with burial immediately following in Sterling~White Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Bo Dalme, J.R. Hester, Donny Baldridge, Victory Milton, Mark Robinson, Kyle Braden, Leslie Dalme, and Jerson Hernandez.
