Janie "Mary Jane" Hernandez

Janie Hernandez age 66, went to be with the Lord on Thursday September 27, 2018. She was born in Houston, Texas on August 2, 1952 to Josephine Villareal and Ben Elizondo. She enjoyed fishing, gardening cooking and baking but most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very sweet, kind, loving and giving person who had a big heart and will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ben Elizondo Jr. 

Janie is survived by her children, Joe Hernandez Jr. (and wife, Nere) and Amanda Hernandez.; her grandchildren, Naomi and Jaeli Hernandez; her sisters, Louise Herrera and Mary Estrada; her nieces and nephews, Ruth Baten, Monica Recio, Jason, Mark and Daniel Herrera. Also survived by other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
