Joe Author Cox

Joe Author Cox, 74, of Centerville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019. He was born on March 27, 1945 in Butler, Alabama to Otis Cox Sr. and Commie Mae Jacobs Cox. Joe was Joe, he loved his family dearly and always made them a priority. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and fiddling with his hands.  Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Joe will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Otis Cox Sr. and Commie Mae Jacobs Cox; daughters, Lisa Mae Cox; sister, Valerie Kelly and Maddie Doris Cox; and brother, Ander Franklin Cox.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sarah Cox; children, Laura Ann Cox Brumley, Christopher Wayne Cox, and Sabrina Lee Cox; grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Cox, Ethan Wayne Cox, Nichole Suzzanne Cox, Warren Elliott McRae-Cox, Jasper Paul McRae-Cox, , and Macayla Lanell Seeley; brothers, Otis Cox Jr. and Bertha Cox of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Robert Odell Cox and Patricia Cox of Highlands, Texas; sister-in-law, Katherine Cox of Highlands, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Sterling White Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm.
