Kenneth W Searcy

January 31, 1943 ~ August 3, 2020 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Tribute

Kenneth Wayne Searcy, of Highlands passed away Monday, August 3rd at his home in Baytown, Texas with his loving wife of 15 years, Rose expressing her love to him as he gently passed away. He was beloved by his three children - Bradley Searcy, Shanna (and Mark Hulme), and Joseph (and Julianne Bernard) - and his two grandchildren - Riley and Lincoln Hulme.

Ken was born in Highlands, Texas on January 31, 1943 to Lillian and Ernest Searcy. Following his graduation from Robert E. Lee Highschool, he entered the world of oil pipe drafting. He remained in the field until his retirement from GDS Engineers in 2011.

Being in God's church was not just something he did but was part of who he was. He loved serving the church by working on the sound crew and would be at all church activities in order to spend more time with the brethren.

Ken was a man who would make sacrifices for the needs of his family and for his desire to serve God. While short-lived, Ken grew soybeans on his days off from drafting. Driving the tractor and combine was a joy to him. He also had a love of flying. He sought out obtaining a pilot's license but due to his vision, flying would have to be done as a passenger where he would spend the entire flight peering out of the window in awe.

Cards can be sent to Rose Searcy at 4613 Ironwood DR, Baytown, Texas, 77521.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Chris Hewitt, Phillip Johnson, William Johnson, Gary Palmer and Nathan Webb.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in the chapel of Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas 77562. A visitation will be held prior from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A burial will follow immediately after the funeral service.
