Louise Myrtle Hamby

Louise Myrtle Russell Hamby, 93, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020. She was born on December 23, 1926 in Dennison, Texas to John Edgar Russell and Myrtle Glover Russell.

Louise enjoyed tending to her flower beds, line dancing, making ceramics and playing Skip-Bo. She was very well known at the Highlands Community Center. Louise was go-getter and a hard worker. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle Russell; sons, Michael Brake Sr. and Milton Sommers; and brother, J.E. Russell.

Louise is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vernon Hamby; grandson, Michael Brake Jr.; sister-in-law, Betty Russell; several great-grandchildren; special friends, Randy and Charlene Pierce; and a host of extended family and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 from 1:00pm to 1:30pm at Sterling White Funeral Home. A celebration of Louise’s life will begin at 1:30pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas 77562.
