Lyle Eugene Griese Sr

Lyle Eugene Griese was 75 years of age, passed away on the morning of October 13, 2018. Lyle Sr was born on Sunday, August 8, 1943. Lyle Sr was the first born of Clara Griese and her husband Ervin Griese of Melvin, Iowa. Lyle Sr was a Faithful Servant of God; he was raised on the family farm in Melvin and after high school graduation he went to college, then was served a draft notice and decided to go into the United States Air Force (where he served for four years in the electrical field becoming an electrician and achieved the rank of Staff Sargent). Around his third year in the Air Force Lyle Sr met and married the “Love of his Life” Lucille Ann Smith Griese. The couple had two beautiful children Lyle Eugene Griese Jr and Nichole Allison Griese Rachal. Lyle Sr loved his family with all his heart and would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return. Lyle had one of the biggest hearts, he loved to fish with his family and friends. Lyle Sr will be truly missed by all those that loved him.

Lyle Sr is survived by his wife Lucille Ann Smith Griese of Highlands, TX; two children his son Lyle Eugene Griese Jr. of Denton, TX; his daughter Nichole Allison Griese Rachal and husband Jason Huey Rachal Sr. of Natchez, LA; and his only grandson Jason(Jay) Huey Rachal II of Natchez, LA; his brother Lyndy Griese and wife Susanna Griese of Hartley, IA; sisters Carol Griese Jensen and husband Keith Jensen of Blue Eye, MO; Marilyn Griese Grunow and husband Ken Grunow of Pittsburg, MO; his mother-in-law Alice Marion Smith of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law Helen Schwertfeger and husband Henry Schwertfeger of Seattle, WA; brother-in-law William(Billy) John Smith Jr and Donna Smith of Orlando, FL and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Lyle was preceded in death by his father Ervin Griese and mother Clara Griese, his only granddaughter Kaitlyn Ann Rachal, his brothers Larry Griese, Raymond Griese, Scott Griese and his father-in-law William John Smith Sr.

God called his Angel to Heaven and he answered his call. Take me in your loving arms and I will heed your call, for my desire is to be with you in peace and grace forever.

Funeral and Burial Services for Lyle Eugene Griese Sr will be held at 10am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Sterling White Funeral Home and Cemetery, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas 77562 with Reverend Mark Wilhoit officiating. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Sterling White Funeral Home.
