Mary Alice Morris

Mary Alice Morris, 73, of Old River Winfree, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. She was born on January 26, 1948 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to parents George Roy Morris and Barbara Eldora Tillman Morris who preceded her in death along with her beloved husband Boyce Morris Jr., and brothers George Emory Morris, Phillip Morris, Clyde Morris, and Lonnie Morris.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Some of the things she enjoyed most in life included music, crocheting, painting, dancing, baking, and puzzles. Mary loved her family dearly, and especially enjoyed spending time joking and making memories with her sisters. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly and truly enjoyed her time with them. Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Kimberly Vela and husband Richard, Becky Oliver and husband Joey, Karen Wilson and husband Brad; grandchildren Trenton Vela and wife Sarah, Emily Vela, Samantha Byrom and husband Whitt, Jordan Coultas and husband Wesley, and Ean Wilson; great-grandchildren June Vela, Lacy Byrom, and McKynlea Byrom; siblings Helen Whalen, Bud Morris, Kathy Pounds, Esther LeNormand, and Ted Morris, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

A visitation for Mary will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2021 at Sterling-White Funeral Home, Highlands, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Sterling-White Funeral Home officiated by Brother Bill Fabruge. Internment will follow at Sterling-White Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Richard Vela, Liam Egbert, Whitt Byrom, Brad Wilson, Ean Wilson, Kenny Penland, and Jacob Walker.
