Michael A Burns

Michael “Mike” Anthony Burns was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 14, 1949. He entered Heaven’s gates on December 15, 2018.

Mike loved to cook and enjoyed getting together with family and friends for his annual crawfish boil. He also loved watching LSU, the Texans and the Astros. His favorite place was his backyard, swimming in the pool and enjoying the beautiful view.

Mike graduated in 1967 from Istrouma Senior High School in Baton Rouge.  He then attended LSU University.  Mike went to work for ExxonMobil in 1970 and retired in 2005.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Linda A. Burns. He is also survived by his daughter Michelle Glover and her husband Bill, daughter Melissa Ling and husband Jason, daughter Melanie Sparacino and husband Anthony, step daughter Carmen Bobinger and husband Jim, step daughter Cassie Paterson and husband Sam, step daughter Laci Perez, brother Robert Burns and wife Ann and sister Kathleen Creel and husband David.  He is also survived by many grandchildren.  Mike was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Burns and mother, Thelma Burns.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Sterling White Funeral Home in Highlands, TX.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 11:00 AM, at Sterling White Funeral Home and burial will immediately follow at Sterling White Cemetery.
