Phillip Ray Cottle Sr., 60, was born on November 14, 1959 and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. His daughter, Emily was by his side at Houston Hospice.
Phillip was born to the late Charles and Fayrene Cottle, of Fort Worth, Texas. He was a long time resident of Baytown, Texas where he was an officer for the Baytown Police Department for 21 years. 15 of those years as a detective. After his retirement, Louise his wife of 21 years, along with Abbie, their schnauzer, moved to Liberty, Texas. Abbie, his best buddy, passed away a few years later but was replaced with two schnauzers Bently and Sadie.
Phillip was an avid Astros and Texans fan and went to as many games as his health would allow. He also loved to go fishing, camping, and to the gun range. His church was very important to him and he had a great relationship with his Pastor, Bryant Perkins. He also enjoyed being a PawPaw to his two grandchildren, Jayden and Leo.
Phillip was preceded in death by his son, Phillip “Ray” Cottle, Jr., his parents, Charles and Fayrene Cottle, and his brother, Charles “Mack” Cottle. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Louise Cottle, his daughter Emily (Amancio), sisters Doris Bourgeois, (Rob), Brenda Percival (Kim), and sister in law, Vicki Cottle and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Amancio Macias, Jayden Macias, Eli Laurendine, Travis Cottle, Joe Vandergraph, Michael Smith, and Kevin McCabe.
Services will be held on August 22, 2020 at Liberty Church of Christ. Visitation is from 9:00 – 1:00 with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm, and burial to follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
